Impossible

I love a challenge.  If I am told something is impossible, I will try and prove that wrong where I can.  Merril sometimes gives me a bottle that needs opening.  She has tried to open it and it proved impossible.
Boys are good for many things and that is one of them.  Often, I will get it open.  What proved impossible for one was possible for another.  Merril is good with computer stuff.  She gets it done.  What may be impossible for one is possible for another.
It does make me wonder though.  Some things seem so unfair.  I ask myself how are the disabled supposed to get it open.  If it is an every day item then if something is impossible to open there is a percentage of the market that is unreached.  The items reputation is that it is to be avoided.
There are many things which are genuinely impossible for me to do.  There is a limit to how much weight I can lift.  But even then there are sometimes things I end up doing I should not be able to.  I have heard of people lifting something to perhaps release a trapped person.  They should not have been able to do it.
For sure though I can’t create worlds in outer space.  Even of I were suited up I would probably run out of time.  I would have to use what I have anyway.  It would be nothing brand spanking new.
What I reckon I do need to be care of though is declaring something impossible when it is only that way because I have not put in the effort or am acting on my perceived limitations.
More than once, I have done something that on first glance looked like the impossible dream.  It would have been apart from faith, determination, and the right tools.  Faith is not a spooky concept but a belief that something can be done.  It is something that is used by everyone in everyday life.
Determination is not something though that everyone uses.  It is too easy to give up at the first obstacle.  To declare something is lost when doing it another way would have produced a win.  It can be just that perseverance is lacking.  And a loss need not be a waste if it is just a lesson in how not to do something.
I do think the right tools are absolutely necessary.  I know there are things that are impossible for me but not impossible.  That is why I get tradies.  Hopefully they know their stuff.  They can do what I cannot.
Often the right tools are supplied by someone who has been there.  I am big on not re-inventing the wheel.  If I don’t know I go to someone who does.  That is if I really want it.  If I don’t I will go on to something else.
As a Christian one of the tools in my belt is prayer.  I am continually amazed how effective it can be.  Recently we knew a guy who had spent hours looking for keys to no avail.  We decided it was prayer time.  We did it and in literally seconds someone suggested looking in a place they are not supposed to be and there they were.  Simple but effective.
Some things are genuinely impossible.  For others the impossible is possible.
