I want to go home

I had places to go but thought the sooner I get home the better.
It had started with me driving around, then looking down and at that point remembering my petrol light was on.  I had minimum kilometers I could drive before coming to a grinding halt and making an embarrassing phone call to RACQ.
I knew my next appointment needed to be preceded by a trip to get petrol.  There were two ways I could go to get there.  I decided I would go left as it would be less stressful.  Or so I thought.
No sooner had I turned into the street near us, and I was confronted with many parked cars.  Parked on both sides of the road.  Rendering the driving area one lane.  Coming in the other direction was a car bigger than me.  Seemingly without thought of the dilemma in front.  So I checked the rearview mirror and pulled over to wait for him to go through.
I let him go and took my chance.  What I did not know is he was being followed by another car going perhaps even faster.  I was committed.  Fortunately that car was smaller and there was room for us both.
I proceeded to the petrol station and did not run out of petrol in the middle of an intersection or anything (I ran out of petrol one time in a work van on Coronation Drive.  I had no idea where to get petrol and was glad there was, unbeknown to me, a station up in the area near where I was).
Arriving at the petrol station I found I had parked over a pile of water.  A big step was needed to avoid it.  I got petrol but found I was too far from the display to read what I was putting in.  Right now is the expensive phase, so I was not going to fill the tank but had no way of knowing how much was going in.
I took a guess.  It was less than I had determined even before the price of petrol had risen over 70 cents a litre.   Still no matter.  I had petrol.  I went and paid for it.
Coming back to the car I was confronted by the water.  I took a big step into the car.  My arm accidently leant against the horn and I hit my head getting in.  (I had just had cancers frozen off my head at the doctors)
I was over it.  I just wanted to go home.  But I had something to do.  I did it and went home to settle into bed and watch a bit of tele.  It would not work.  I phoned Foxtel and after retrieving a torch and varies cables we determined the box was kaput and needed to be replaced.  That would happen in a minimum of five days.
Some days are like that.  Today is a new day.  I hope it is not like yesterday.
