I Think I Can, I Think I Can

What a day yesterday turned out to be.
Friday has become the sort of default work in the yard day.  I have been working my way around the yard after a fashion.  Getting rid of the wood pile was a biggy for me.  But it was done.  We set up the area for our fruit trees and planted them.
The next task was one I had thought may be too much for me and I has asked someone else about it.  That did not happen and going through all our wood I found a couple of pieces that could make a back and side of an area I had thought to build up.  I also bought a few star pickets as it occurred to me, I did not need to cement stuff in, I could support it using star pickets.
So I cleared the area of things and retrieved many of the stones for the surface and tidied up the area of grass.  I wanted it clear, so I knew what I was looking at.
Once that was done, I drilled drainage holes in the wood and placed it where I wanted it.  I had dug out an area for the side piece of wood to go but it was dug out easily and was beautiful soil.
Once the wood was down and the star pickets in, I filled the area with broken bricks and pots and the like.  I still needed soil to put on top.
That was when I rang a local landscape supplier for a meter of soil that day.  I asked if a seniors card meant anything and they said they did not have a policy but supplied the soil at Trade price.  The did not charge delivery either so I was pleased with the price.
Merril gave me a hand with moving the soil.  There was enough to fill the rea I wanted to fill and cover many other areas as wall.  There is no doubt moving the soil was hard work, but it was worth it.  An area I thought may be beyond me has started to be done big time.  I estimate another few hours will see it finished.
Then it is past the water tank and down the side of the shed.  Merril is working on the inside of the house.  I am doing the outside.  This is like our first pass, and it is keeping us gainfully occupied.
