I Can't, I Can

I guess I am an interested spectator in this one.  I have been considering something and guess I want to put my thoughts on paper.
Today I have been relating it to something experienced a while ago.  As a group of people, we did something so out of the blue and unexpected.  Yet it showed big time what was possible.
I was the head of an organization.  I had with me five like minded people.  None of us grew up in the tradition we represented, but we loved what we were involved in.  We played by the rules but went way beyond anything we saw happening around us.
The thing that was key for me is we knew no better.  Most of what we saw being achieved by people of like mind was at one level and we took it to another.  We did things, not because we saw others doing them, but because it was something we wanted to do, and there were others around to help us achieve our goal.
What I am considering is passion.  Passion that works within an accepted framework but is not bound by that framework.  Passion that works within the rules but sees beyond the “lived by” limitations.
We ended up doing something that had an Australia wide impact.  It even made the front page of the world organizations web site.  I remember the word of one of Australia’s top representatives. “Unbelievable.”
I have been asking myself “what is your passion?”  I always come back to the same thing.  My passion is to see others encouraged to follow their passion and work towards its fulfilment.  That to me is potentially a messy business.  People mean well but blow it.  I can be burned.  But beyond that, I can be gobsmacked.  Sometimes others go beyond expectation and take things to a new level,
I am grappling with this today because it is my burning desire to see others thrive.  Not just others who, because of the advantages of birth are expected to make it big time, but those who are not.  Those who have been seemingly disadvantaged by birth or life but have a dream.
It seems to me that so often “I can’t,” is built not on what is possible, but on lived experience.  So often “I can’t” is born of a lack of self-belief and habits of the past rather than the way things really are.
I guess I am realist enough to know that often perceptions need to be dealt with, and that is not always pleasant.  In every case a person must want to deal with what holds back.  If they are anything like me help is accepted and appreciated.  Yet to me a dream worth perusing, is a dream worth fighting for.
Worthwhile dreams see me out of my depth.  Something may be beyond me but a belief in the dream, single-minded determination to see it fulfilled, and not being afraid to ask for help,  means I pursue all lawful means to make it happen.  Chances are helping me is a piece of the jigsaw helping another achieve their dream.
I see my role as helping others achieve their dreams.  Others fulfilling their passion helps me fulfil mine.
