Hunt and Gather

Well Merril has gone away.  I have decided not to sit on car port driveway and howl and listen for every car that is in the area.
The need for beauty sleep might be a thing of the past but sleep is still important.  Last night was not the night for it.  Merril was out with others (I could have gone) and I was awake when she got home about 11pm.  She was then up at 3am to leave.  She was driving south about 6 hours with her dad.  They were visiting the niece who had a big birthday.
I was up to see her off and although I went back to bed, I do not think I slept.  I had a busy morning ahead.  I organize the rosters for our church, and I keep an eye out for those that are on to ensure they are there.  If not, I look for replacements.
I was chuffed someone else volunteered to do announcements.  I was down to do it, but I was happy to hand over.  I ended up only needing to ensure others were right to do what they were to do, and I greeted people at the door.
I was pretty cactus and was looking forward to a rest.  Landline was on and I like to have lunch to that.  I did that but do not even think I lasted to the end of the program.  Interest is not a guarantee of wakefulness.  I was interested I the topics but what I took in was less than what it might have been.
Oh well.  I will always give something my best shot but things turn out differently than I may have had planned the. 
I did enjoy the rest, and as usual I woke up confused about what day it was.  I have woken up before thinking I was getting up late due to the brightness outside.  I am usually pleased it is still the day before.
I still had things I wanted to do.  I did them and it took me a number of hours.  During that time I had dinner.  Like lunch it was a doggy bag of stuff from going out the night before.  Saved me having to hunt and gather.  Not that I would need to hunt beyond the fridge as Merril left me enough stuff to tide me over while she is away.
Merril rang from where she is.  She had had a good day but I will be glad when she is back.  I miss her.  She is good company and we are heading in the same direction with our goals.  It is a journey for us both and it being a together thing is a good thing.
