It is a big choice.  Where to live.  Which house out of all the ones looked at is the one I want to live in.  I look at various places and while lots have things going for them they do not feel like home.
I was selling real estate at one stage and I do remember the boss saying, "all those houses on the main road have people living in them.”  There is no doubt to me we are all different and look for different things in a home.
But I reckon even though we are all different we are all the same.  Everyone of us looks for a place that meets our basic needs and reflects our personalities.  I remember being in a car and seeing something and the passenger commented “I don’t like that.”  I said to her so there would be some go by that said, I like that and others would go by saying I don’t like that.
It seems in Burpengary sheds are the thing.  We call this shed city.  We did not have one when we moved into here.  Now we have three.  They all have names.  The biggest is called “The Shed” (how original is that?  The one beside it is called “mini me” as it is way smaller than the main shed and the newest is called “the studio.”  It has Merril’s art gear in it along with other things.
As soon as we saw this place we wanted it.  The outside has gone through heaps of changes.  The inside not so much.  Except there is a small hole in one wall now were I collapsed and hit my head.  Apart from that most of the changes have been to the outside (as seen on my Youtube site under videos https://www.youtube.com/user/cattlegrazing).
Some are in homes decades, and some months, and others somewhere in between.  Both of us tend to be stayers.  God willing we see ourselves here a while.  Things can be very different to what is imagined but we see ourselves living out our days here.
We do know though, based on the evidence that seems to be piled up one day we will cark it.  We joke that after that happens the place is not our concern.  Just like at work the time will come when people say “Peter who?” they will say in relation to this place “Peter and Merril who?”
So we will enjoy it while we have it.  We know it is not permanent.  They say home is where the heart is.  Both of us are looking forward to an even better place.
