Hand to the Plough

Well day 3 of getting the granny flat installed has come and gone.
Probably the major thing achieved was the raising of the front door ready for the pouring of the concrete. We thought there was a little room above the door to be able to achieve that.  There was.  But the plumbing went across that area and was not anticipated.  Still it happened and we are very pleased to see it.
Merril came up with a name “the cabin” (rather than granny flat.  My thinking is it may be better to call it the cabin as good chance it may not be a granny in there.  We do name buildings as an identifier.  Our big shed is just called “the shed.”  The smaller one is “the Studio” and the tiny one we built which holds garden stuff is called “mini me.”
It was really hot yesterday so I understand the guy starting and finishing early.
In the morning we went and dropped stuff off at trash and treasure, went to the shops for bacon and onions (and as it turned out other things) and then went to N3C to pick up sausages waiting for us.
It is my designated day off so I was not into things like I know I will be.  Besides we had my brother come down from the sunshine coast for lunch with us to celebrate Merril’s birthday (he was due to come a few weeks ago but the weather was terrible for travel, so we put it off till now.
He had bought her something that reflects the favour of the month.  I have written recently about gratitude.  He had no idea.  He bought her a gratitude bowl and something that contained a multitude of sayings that highlight gratitude.  Merril in her studies had listed gratitude as something she wanted to work on (she is good but, in her mind, can be better).  Anyway, that was timely and she loved it.
We had lunch at the Sportsman’s Club in Morayfield.  It was good, went downhill, and is better again in our view.  The meals were reasonably priced and delicious.  My bro went straight from there to his home.
When we arrived home, we had a rest and later Merril prepared for the arrival of cabinets to be installed in our kitchen.  They are arriving Friday for installing from Monday.
Now is now.  I have listened to a phone message and a couple of people are coming to a breakfast tomorrow I hold here once per month.  The last for the year is this month.  Today like every day promises to be busy.
