Grease and Oil Change

There is an ad. I saw on in Longreach that looks like an Australian wide one, but I really like what it said.  It was saying something like “your health is your business but keeping you healthy is ours.”
I did like that it was acknowledging that the way I am is my choice.  As long as what I am doing is not genuinely adversely affecting others, then the choices I make are up to me.  However having decided the standard I am setting for myself, I am happy to have others help to keep me that way.
I feel it is like that when I visit my doctor. He knows (in this case a he) what I require and does all he can to ensure I live that way.  It is up to him to keep me from things that will do me in if I let go (for example I have had a number of cancers cut out, plus dealing with a brain tumour).  It is also up to him to warn me and point me in the right direction regarding things of which I may be unaware but there are tell tale signs that need investigating.
I actually feel it is like that when it comes to life in general.  I decide the level I want to live at, and there are experts that attempt to keep me on track.
I feel nothing worthwhile is achieved if I let myself go physically, mentally or spiritually and will not ask for help if I need it.  I can be blind to the things that will get me if I remain unaware of them, or refuse to deal with them.
Yet the converse is true to.  They say a person cannot be helped unless they are willing to acknowledge a problem in the first place.  I feel that is true not only of my physical health but mental and spiritual too.  I can be like an Ostrich with my head buried in the sand, but it does not mean no one is approaching.  They say just because you are paranoid does not mean no one is after you.
I will always do what I can to maintain the level of health I decide upon, but I know I will always need the help of the experts to help keep me that way.
