Grave Robbing

11/5/2025

Unreal.  Or maybe very real.  I never cease to be amazed at what I consider.
Last night while in that place between waking and sleeping, I was thinking about grave robbing.   Not in the sense of what many have done in the past, but in my own personal life where something that is dead and buried is brought up again.
I reckon I am inclined to do that.  Some things in my past were both embarrassing and wrong to do.  I am ashamed to think of them and they were delt with.  By dealt with I mean I confessed such things and know I was forgiven.  But it seems human nature does not like to let me off.
It is not an advocating of burying something alive.  By that I mean I try to ignore something and put it out of sight and out of mind.  Yet I know when push comes to shove, I react in a certain way and there it is again.  Wishful thinking does not make it go away.  Regret alone is not enough.  Any sore that is not cleaned and dealt with gets worse.  Burying something alive is for me a recipe for disaster.
No, what I do that I know is counter productive is to deal with something and then dig it up and unnecessarily relive the pain and hurt.  I think it is good to learn from things at the time, but once a matter is dealt with it is dealt with.
For me nothing is gained by reliving past failures that have been learned from, dealt with and I have moved on from.
I have hopes and dreams.  The last thing I want to do is carry around stuff that not only has been dealt with, but weighs me down unnecessarily when relived and reclaimed.
The past is the past.  Now and the future I can change for the better.
