Good Stuff

I guess it is not that unusual, but it has been a strange day today.  We did get a couple of things done which were more a hope than an expectation.  I have ordered more gas which is coming tomorrow and Merril contacted the bank to get the app working after it stopped for no apparent reason.
Something that did happen that was both a win and a temporary loss had to do with scrap metal collection.  I had organized two pick ups today.  One from here and one from another place.
The one from here happened.  I received a call they were coming.  I had told some neighbours they were due today and to leave any scrap metal on our driveway if they wanted.  Two had availed themselves of the opportunity.  We had had a big clean out so we had a bit for them.  They were actually pleased with our load but because they already had things on their trailer from a previous load they could not collect from the other location today.  That is a tomorrow thing now.
The other thing that happened was a win in an unforeseen way.  I have a zoom get together of a Tuesday.  I have a computer set up for it.  I discovered I did not have my keyboard there (I had taken it elsewhere earlier in the week).  I spent minutes looking for it and found it in the car at an odd angle down low.  I thought then I was right to go.  It was then I discovered I did not have a mouse. 
I still do not have a mouse.  We have been several places and taken things and the way the keyboard was made me think the mouse may have dropped out somewhere.  All was not lost however.  I had zoom set up on another computer and used that one.  I was late but our get together was so worth it.
We have a lending library here.  We determined it would only ever be two bookcases else it would become bigger then Ben Hur.  Our way is to get rid of books that are not moving and not likely to.  I mention that because someone gave me three boxes of books and they are just about all wanted.  Anyone who donates books or cds or dvds knows that if we do not keep an item we will give it to someplace that will on sell it.
Stuart did the original cataloguing which was hundreds of items.  Since he is no longer around I have been doing it.  I have incredible admiration for him.  His patience was way better than mine.  I have been classifying but I see several full days to bring it all up to date.
One thing I have learned along the way though is sometimes things seem like an inconvenience or bother but turn out for my good.  I am always glad though when these things are over.
