Good Start

Well then night certainly turned out differently than I thought it would.
For the last number of years, we have had people over to watch State of Origin with us.  We often get pizza on the night and enjoy good company.  Those coming has dwindled over the years though natural attrition and people moving.
Last night several had said they would be here, and one regular was still to be asked and that was due to happen that day.  Yet the signs were not good.  One couple no longer goes out together at night.  Another couple were unwell and did not want to spread anything around.  Another regular had a major appointment the day following and thought it better to stay home for the evening.
One had said they would be here.  So we had decided to have a home made curry on the night.  Then I saw that person and they said they would not be here.  I had decided I would not extend an invitation to someone who would be collected.  I am quietly confident about next time.  I am glad of that decision now.
Besides smart phones make a difference.  Some of us messaged on the phone while the game was on.
The result of the game was a surprise to me.  I did not know what to expect.  But we really do seem to have some game changers.
I actually did not like a survey being conducted by one of the channels.  “10 things you hate about NSW.”  To me that is incredibly divisive.  It seems if ever there is a time to be united it is now.
Naturally I want Queensland to win.  But not because of hatred towards fellow Australians.  I want us to win because I love my state and we play better.
So I think of 10 things I love about NSW.  I love the north coast.  Personally I like it the best of any I have seen in this country.  Also northern rivers is incredibly pretty to me.  I have found the main roads are better.  The people are on the whole friendly.  There seems to be the same sort of mix as here.  Friendly people and not so friendly people.  When Australia plays a team sport NSW want Australia to win in combination with people from all over this land.  They defended our nation.  They hold major events and run them well.  I am free to traverse the country.  They contribute to the wealth of the nation.  They are full of people in there giving it a go.
I want Queensland to win State of Origin, but I do not hate NSW.
