Get away

Well here we are in Perth.
It is good to visit different places.  The architecture is different here.  It looks to me like things are built on a grand scale.  Even modest buidings tend to be different.
I was glad when the flight was over.  We arrived at the airport to leave in good time but the flight was slightly delayed in leaving.  The boarding process was different.  We went down the usual shute for boarding then had to walk down stairs and across the tarmac and board the back of the plane from up another set of stairs.
I actually did not know that there were planes with seats so packed together.  The flight was full.  The onboard entertainment had progressed to.  There is heaps to watch if I want to on a screen on the back of the seat in front.  There are earphones supplied by the airline for that.
I chase to at first listen to music on my phone and then watched some episodes of “The Chosen” on my phone.  I have never seen that series.  On the screen in front of me I watched our progress across the continent.  The trip was about five and a half hours.  The coldest it was outside the plane was -50.  I was glad we were insulated.
It is cooler in Perth.  Not cold but definitely more spring like at the moment.
This afternoon we head to Fremantle.  I am looking forward to that.  This morning is free and we will take a free bus around the place to get a look at the city. Before that is breaky.  Again I am looking forward to that.  If it is anything like Daydream was then breakfast will definitely be a good way to start the activities of the day.
It is actually nice to just get away and do something different for a while.  I definitely enjoy what I do but I also definitely enjoy doing something different for a while.  It is like recharging the batteries.
I definitely get to meet different people.  The guy who drove us to our motel was originally from Northern Island.  Someone else I have talked to was from Hawaii and is working in Perth for a month.  Former military fella.
Technology definitely makes it a smaller world.    I can wifi in which makes posting possible.  I can remain it touch with people I associate with very easily if I need or want to.  But getting away is about getting away.
