From Little Things Big Things Grow

When I get the weekly email from James Clear I look to see if there is anything said I would like to consider, or take further if I can.
This week he said, “"If you're stuck on a problem, try solving it at a different level.  If you ask, "What can we do to create a more unified country?" then you end up with vague answers that are difficult to implement. The problem is mostly unmanageable at that level.  But if you ask, "What can I do to create a more unified neighbourhood?" then you can likely think of many small things you can do to connect your friends and neighbours.  Zoom in or zoom out. Problems that seem impossible at one level are often quite accessible from a different one."
I took it a step further in that it is my thinking that a unified neighbourhood starts with a unified household.  The reason I say a unified family or household is required first is that the household pulls together towards the end it wants to achieve.  That led me to think that “the power to change can happen only when one with the power to make the change changes.”
To me it is like a tipping point.  I don’t take on someone more powerful than I.  That to me is a recipe for disaster.  If on the other hand, I bring others to my cause, then I work till the day is reached when what I have is powerful enough to overwhelm my enemy.  It is then in my mind that chance can be affected.
It is a bit like what they say about collections.   Three items make a collection.  In the same way I think if it is just one in a household wanting to achieve something and there is someone else there not involved it is an uphill battle.  To me the one needs to work on becoming two or more.  When all are involved, then a microcosm of what is desired can be created.  In a sense it is a blueprint of what is wanted to be achieved.
For me it is a neat and tidy place, open to hospitality, and Merril and I praying together for the good of all around us.
Change starts with me.
