Finished Book

Well I have finally finished “No More Worlds to Conquer”   It only took me about 10 months to read.
There is a legitimate reason why it took so long.  It had been placed in the smallest room in the house.  I only read it when I was there.  There was another reason it took a while to.  The marker I had, only designated the page.  I often spent ages just finding where I was up to, and then reading.  Sometimes, when I was absorbed, I lingered, but if I did not linger, then the time reading once I found my place, was shortened.
I have another book there now, but I have a clever plan.  The marker I will use, will designate the exact location I am at.  That should help.  At this point though, it is unproven, so it may be an abject failure.  I guess I am about to find out.
There are a couple of reasons why the new book should not be there.  Firstly it is from the library, and has a time limit on its return.  Secondly, every page is chock full of stuff that should be thought about, rather than read quickly.  I may need to move it.
“No More Worlds to Conquer” was good in that it contained things I found worth noting, but they were spaced out.  I thought to myself “that is worth remembering.”  To me it was, but I did nothing about it, and could not be bothered trying to find it again at this point.
“No More Worlds to Conquer” contained the stories of 16 very diverse people.  A number were moon people, but one was a soccer player from the 1966 English World Cup winning team, who became a successful undertaker.  Another was a singer (I Will Survive), who became a Christian, and is on the speaking tour a lot.  Another was captured in Lebanon, who became Mr Everyday, as marriage and getting back to a normal life was a challenge.  Still another was a mountaineer who was the first to conquer the 16 highest peaks, who established successful museums.  There were others.
I felt for one of the moon folk.  He had a mountain on the moon named after him.  The only trouble is, it is on the other side of the moon.  The side we never see.  Apart from his feat so long ago, he is only famous to Astronomers who study this stuff.
I was interested in this book, as it told the story of what people did after their defining moment, which in all cases, happened when they were young.  I will never be famous (infamous is possible) but I am interested to know “what next.”
