Feelings

I have been pleased with the way things have been getting done that I wanted to do.  I have started something again that I had forgotten to do, and was not doing due to circumstances and sickness.  That is, I have been doing things despite my feelings.
Sometimes for sure feelings are right to encourage me not to do things.  In those circumstances I do well to go by them as they align with what I know to.  It was not right to throw myself into stuff while Merril was going through something really hard.  Also the extreme heat told me to take it easy.  Finally being sick did not help.
I accidently made a pocket call to a friend up north and they told me they (husband and wife) had had covid recently and the lethargy was what was hitting them hardest.  I found the same thing.  Covid thankfully was mild.  The lethargy seemed to go on and on.
But I feel all that is behind me now.  So I am back to actually doing what is currently on my to do list.  This is what I have gotten into again.
What I have found is that if I let them, feelings can sabotage what I plan.  So the other day I wrote down what I wanted to achieve and went ahead despite the way I felt.  I discovered something I am glad I am reminded of. 
Often feelings to not do, give way to feelings to do, when I apply myself despite how I feel initially.   The to do list was such that I knew I could get done what I wanted to do in the time I had allocated.  I found myself hurrying to complete the list before darkness fell.  It was extremely satisfying to view things from having done them rather than from having to do them.
I have a new list and we are doing major work in the hope that much becomes maintenance rather than changes.  Like me it is a work in progress.
