I have no idea why, but I was considering the beauty industry.  I admit when it comes to me, they have their work cut out for them.  I did have someone assess me and said I was “reasonable” looking.  I think he was being kind.  On holidays one time I saw someone that I thought looked incredibly like me and I recoiled – not at him, but at the thought.  All I can say is, please don’t recoil because my bottom lip can quiver with the best of em.
I was shocked to learn that the fashion industry accounts for an incredible amount of land fill.  I was though, happy to hear there are designers who are using used material to fashion fashion garments.  I am probably bias, but I do like their stuff.  I admit I find a lot of what I see on the catwalk too out there.
I know it is easy for me to say, but I reckon the fashion industry has it all wrong.  They encourage the spending of so much to try to make me something else.
It is not that I think it is never right to do myself up.  Sometimes I get all done up.  It is a rare occasion, but it does happen. I even sometimes splash on the Blue Stratus.  That stuff is like a chick magnet.
Many guys seem to think that just getting up in the morning is enough.  We think we are the bees knees.  Just as well most women seem to love us anyway.  People come in all shapes and sizes.  Stunning lookers are rare.  I thought Catherine Zita Jones was a stunner.  It seems many women think Chris Hemsworth is good looking.  When that is declared to me, I like to just move on.
What I do object to is being encouraged to think that if I do not have their stuff (whatever is being promoted) I am less than I could be.
I am a great fan of the thought that it is what is on the inside that matters most.  I do though like what someone said, “if the door needs painting, paint it.”  That might be something I could think - but I would never say it - unless I wanted others to be able to identify my time of death.  I will work on the outside, but I do not pretend that is who I am.
I will do my best with the outside while not succumbing to marketing that tells me without a particular product, I am not all I am meant to me.  I have seen that what is on the inside tends to come out.  It is one of the reasons I am drawn to people that may look ordinary, (or reasonable like me), but on the inside they are absolute gems, and I am a better person for knowing them.
