Failure

I have trouble getting my head around the methodology used here but I reckon the principle is brilliant.  The last sentence to me sums up a good thing. “His attitude taught me to define failure as not trying something I want to do instead of not achieving the right outcome”
This was what a Sara Blakely said, “When my brother and I were growing up, my father would encourage us to fail. We'd sit around the dinner table and he'd ask, "What did you guys fail at this week?" If we had nothing to tell him, he'd be disappointed. The logic seems counterintuitive, but it worked beautifully.
He knew that many people become paralysed by the fear of failure. They're constantly afraid of what others will think if they don't do a great job and, as a result, take no risks. My father wanted us to try everything and feel free to push the envelope. His attitude taught me to define failure as not trying something I want to do instead of not achieving the right outcome.”
It seems to me a fear of failure holds a multitude back from achieving.  It is so right to me that it was said that people tend to do nothing rather than do something and fail.
Failure is not something I seek but I know it can play a great role in success.  As is said, “insanity is doing something the same way and expecting different results.”  To me success can be born of failure.  The bottom line to me is learning from it.  There is nothing to be gained from failing to learn from failure.
Success is what I aspire to but I can learn heaps from not succeeding the first or even multiple times.  As long as I learn the lesson to be taught in a failure.  One thing for sure is that success is one step closer.  Failure does not define success.  It is only a step to success.
This sort of thing shakes me out of glibness.  It is so easy to give up within sight of success.  So often it seems to me the depth of the failure is in converse proportions to the height of success.  Not giving up is paramount to climb any mountain.
