Exploring

Scientists are pretty excited, as they think they have found a frozen lake under the surface of Mars.  They used ground penetrating radar to find it.  I reckon that is a pretty neat tool.  To find resources on our planet, they just need to use this to see what is there, rather than trudge to the place and explore.
I am pretty excited to. I saw NASA when one of the rovers landed on Mars (the one that bounced).  To me, exploring other planets is pretty cool.  I find it incredible what they can do.  I mean, how do you land something on a moving target so far away?  I enjoyed the movie Hidden Figures, which was about many things, but central were the calculations needed to land a craft on the moon.  I think it was the Europeans, who landed a craft on a moving asteroid.  It was a pity the site chosen to land it, was in a shadow, and it had trouble communicating with us.
Exploring is one of the reasons I am against the indiscriminate clearing of rain forests in the Amazon.  There sooo could be stuff there that could provide the cure for things that are incurable right now. I think it is important we find out, rather than just never know.  Of course that is easy for me to say, as there are many forces at work.
I love exploring but I have no desire to believe a lie.  I also have no desire to believe something that is just said often enough.  I have a problem with blind faith, not faith.  It is not a big issue for me.  Hopping in a car or plane needs it.  Whatever we plan or do requires it.  We plan for a particular outcome but we don’t have it till the end. Whatever I believe concerning matters beyond the grave, it takes an act of faith, as I have not stayed there.  I feel my belief system has stood the test of time for thousands of years.  I am quietly confident it will do so into the future.  If it could have been disproved it would have, and the matter would have been put to bed, and we all would have moved on.
When I can, I prefer something is proven, especially concerning matters I find important. For example, I won all three singles matches the last time I played table tennis (I had to get that in somehow.  It is ok to be shocked, as I was too.  The word “unprecedented” came to mind really easily, though I am unsure why my wife did not want to discuss it with me, point by point.)  You can believe me just because (I mean, look at this face, would it knowingly lie to you…) or you can check out mbtta.org under fixtures.  Actually, all that will show is where I am at in percentages.  On second thoughts, please do not go there, as it will only show how badly I have been doing.
Anyway, I am excited by the exploring and stuff we can do, and what we are finding.
