Easy and Hard

Easy is easy and hard is hard.
Today I had a doctor’s appointment.  It was just to renew a script.  The appointment was for 11.10.  The doctor did not call me in till 12:10.  I only was with him three or so minutes.
I did like his new sign on the wall that said “Storms do not last forever.”  Apparently someone was prevented from suiciding when he said that to them.  Another person was contemplating it, and it meant heaps to them.  So he bought a sign for his office that said it.  Of course, I would have preferred to see the sign at 11:20 or so.  Was not to be though.  It was hard. 
Then I went to the pharmacy and had to wait when normally they give me what I need and I am on my way.  Not today.  I tried to catch up on some rest while I waited.  An attendant took matters into their own hands and said Kuskie had been called more than once.  I knew it had not.  I was listening intently.  She lied to me.  She was then told other scripts were being prepared and went her way.  On the way home my fuel light came on.
I had planned to catch up on some sleep before we took a big load of green waste to the dump.  Didn’t happen.  The sleep that is.  It was hard.  We piled the trailer and the car and went to the dump.
Still, I reckon that is a first world problem.  It is not like I was walking two kilometres for the days water.   So, in perspective it was not as hard as some do it, but it was hard for me.  Sometimes things come real easy.  All the lights are green.  I get what I came for straight away and there is no waiting.
I do wonder though how much I grow when things come easy.  They can be easy because the task is easy.  At other times they are easy as I have done it often before.  It may have been hard once but through use it has become easy.
When things are hard though, I can find out I am not as wonderful as I am believed to be.  I know you will probably have trouble with that, but sometimes I am not wonderful.  Had to believe isn’t it?
Everyone faces difficulties and trials.  Some I pass no problem.  Others I need to resit the exam for.  I do see what I go through though not in isolation but as part of a bigger plan.  It is for my good.
It does not mean I look forward to it though.  I don’t seek it out.  It tends to find me.  I will always try to make the hard easy.  Trouble is that is easier said than done.
