Early Riser

4/2/2020

I am a morning person.  A sort of, throw open the curtains, the day is half over kinda guy.  The darkness tends to make it hard to say it is a beautiful day.  Unless of course it is raining and then despite it being dark, it is wet outside and dry inside.
Not everyone is a morning person.  At least I think that is what the grunts mean.  Night people could write something, but surely “I went to bed” is as good as it gets.
I went on an evening dinner cruise out west.  I did love the bush poet that was on board.  The guy in charge of the cruise told us to watch the sky.  It changed colour as night fell.  That was the tourist attraction.  Nice, but it happens everywhere.  Also, the driver of the boat told us the river ends just around the corner.  What they had was limited, but they sure made good use of it.  Sorta like some night people to me.
Said in the nicest possible way, IT Nerds are a different breed.  I know of no group that burns the candle at both ends so regularly.  Though if there is no work the next day, they tend to be creatures of the night.  To me it is sort of understandable.  Sit in front of the computer, and hours often go by and I am totally unaware of it until I look at a clock.
These days it is easier to look at a clock because there is one bottom right on the computer.  I just need to lower my eyes a little and look right.  That beats having (gasp) to turn my head or roll my wrist.
Once upon a time I could burn the candle at both ends.  I still can.  It is the next couple of days I need to get over.
Still I find the peace and quiet of the morning allows me to get a lot done.  Well it would if I was so inclined.
I’d be lying if I said my being hyper was instantaneous.  For a while I am on automatic pilot.  Walls are a challenge.  I am normally better after a coffee.  There comes a time when something changes.  I go from being “living on earth” challenged, to “what, solve all the world’s problems? can’t you give me something harder?”
I do love the really early morning though, even if it could be a really lonely existence.  Thankfully I do not feel alone.  But as they say, “just because you are paranoid does not mean no one is watching you.”  I take comfort in the fact that if someone wants to watch me making coffee or being on my computer, they really need to get a life.
Being an early morning person does have its advantages though.  I may have only moved a glass from here to over there, but it can seem I have got so much done.
Being an early riser is just the way I am.  This morning the first time I looked at the clock it was 4.25 am.  I was late!  Look out walls!  I mean world.
