Dreams

To sleep – perchance to dream.
I have said somewhere that time on the island is determined more by sun up and sun down than by artificial light.  We still use lights, but are more inclined to call it a day, when the sun goes down.
I really do not know if it is right or wrong but I heard it some place and it stuck.  My experience seems to bear it out.  They say every hours sleep before midnight is worth two. That is great, except here it tends to mean I am awake and staring at the ceiling really early.  I mean like one am early.  I am an early riser anyway, mostly getting up around three am, but here I am awake even earlier.  I don’t need a lot of sleep at the best of times.  Five hours seems to be it for me. 
Besides, sometimes I will get an hour or two during the day.  I am always amazed how well I sleep then.  I do not even know it is happening, but find when I look at the clock time has past.  Daytime sleep though, seems to have me in a stupor for a while after I awake.
I would say I don’t dream but I think everyone does.  It is just I often do not remember my dreams.  It seems though that most dreams are just the brain working through stuff.  It amazes me, how often dreams seem to be negative.
Most dreams are inconsequential. Some are not.  I would not have said it, or known it, except for a guy I used to work with, indicated I am reasonable at understanding dreams.  He told me his dream once, and thought the evaluation of it was meaningful.
I do always listen to what people are saying when they talk about their dreams.  As I say, most seem to mean very little.  Some are pizza dreams.  Occasionally though, something is dropped in, rather than worked through.  They are the ones I listen out for in particular. It seems to me, that if something is being said, it is important we know what it is, rather than trying to guess.  Often this sort of dream is cryptic.    What it means is not obvious.  The good thing is though, when something is right, it seems to ring true.  The dreamer tends to know that they know that they know.
For me, not a lot happens, but I listen intently to what others are experiencing and weigh it up.  I don’t want the significant to be treated as insignificant or vice versa.  For me it does not matter who stuff is happening to, but it matters that it is happening.
