Dream

Everyone dreams apparently.  I need to take others word for that.  I just don’t remember most dreams.  It seems I have them though, and they process the day’s events.  In my case, some days that would be a real quick file upload.
Oh there are some dreams I remember.  If it is too hot, I have bad dreams and remember them.  Sometimes last nights pizza is at work.  Sometimes something else is at work.  When I have had too much sleep I tend to dream and not like what I dream.  Whatever the case, I usually push up zd’s undisturbed.
I do daydream though.  I seem to have that one down pat.  I’m with Edgar Allan Poe “They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.”   When I was younger, I had visions of my future.  Now I have dreams of my future. 
I do like what I see.  Yet it is just a glimpse.  It is like there is a fog and it blows away just long enough to reveal something good.  Then the fog closes in again.  It seems the very thing which mars my existence mars my dreams.  What is see I see unclearly, but I do like what I see.
I should stop soon or there will be those saying “Kuskie’s seeing things.”  Well in a word, yes.  But I would rather see how things can be, and be happy, than just see how things are, and be unhappy.  As someone said, “Every human is an artist. The dream of your life is to make beautiful art.”  It seems Pliney the Elder was on the money when he said, “Hope is the pillar that holds up the world. Hope is the dream of a waking man.”  Hope beats the alternative every time.
Maybe I missed the memo, but I thought having a dream was necessary for creating an envisaged future.  Everyone I know of saw something before they had something. Steve Jobs had amazing dreams, which produced amazing products.  But even when it comes down to me, I dream and then do something.  Sometimes the dream is way different to how things turn out, but everything I have done was in my mind’s eye before it was physically manifest.
I do like what one musio said, “My medium is music, but my goal is to motivate people to dream.”  It seems to me one having a dream is a “maybe”, but many having a dream is a “distinct possibility”.
Dreams can be good or bad.  I, or we, could imagine all sorts of mischief and work to make it happen.  That is not me though.  My dream sounds corny, but it is true.  Work with others to make the world a better place.  Thankfully, there are plenty of others who have the same thing in mind.
