Dietician

30/8/2018

This standing upright thing has real advantages.   For a start it prevents my knuckles dragging on the ground when I walk, thus preventing nasty cuts and bruises.  I am determined to do more of it.
Today I was just too busy to type.  Sleep took out a huge chunk of the day.  I did have time though, to visit my dietician.  I actually have a problem with calling him my dietician.  It is not like I own him or anything.  He does not follow me home when our session is finished. It is probably better to say I saw the dietician I go to.  I am one of many he sees, and a quick check around my yard, confirms he has his own life to lead.
It turned out it was a good session with him.  I did not realize he had made a list of goals for me to achieve.  I knew about the salt thing.  As a result I was not adding salt to anything.  Then a trip to my doctor revealed my salt levels were too low.  I could start adding salt to stuff again.  I was happy with that, because I can do that.  I failed when it came to butter. I loooove butter.  I eat too much I know.   Anyway he suggested having butter on one slice of toast, and say an avocado on the other.  That seems reasonable to me, and I just need to find a green grocer that sells avocados’ at a reasonable price.  He asked what sort of cooking oil we use.  I did not know, as Merril does most the cooking.  When I cook, I use it without looking at the label.  He suggested olive oil was best, and that I ask my wife what she uses.  I asked Merril later and she uses olive oil.  Looking all smug was a waste of time, as I was not sitting in front of him.
Something he talked about, and I had forgotten I now do, was reducing my biscuit intake.  I told him the only time I have biscuits now, is when I visit some place and they are on offer.  Nothing should be made of me grabbing the biscuits you offer, and holding them tightly to myself and barking loudly and aggressively, while baring my teeth, when you approach.  I am more than happy to share your stuff once I have had my fill.
We had been invited to someone’s birthday celebration last night, which we went to.  Having reached this age, sitting around a table eating and talking, constitutes a party.  The more people there are, the wilder the party is.  This was a wild party.
We had a good time, but after such a big day, rest was welcome.
