My process for writing these things is I often listen to music of a morning, and it mentions a theme I would like to explore further.  That is not the only way, but it is one way.  The best- case scenario is I have a theme first thing in the morning and write about it early.
It really does not always work that way.  The one for yesterday was written last thing before going to bed.  There is definitely less stress early.  I often review and tweak.  Sometimes though it is just, “get something on paper.”  I always review what I write though.  Each sentence matters to me, and it needs to be true.  If it is something I am unsure about I will take it out.  Often an individual word can change the meaning of something.
This morning was different.  Merril and I were talking about something, and it made me think how easy it is to claim something until I am tested in that area.
I remember playing soccer as a kid for a team that needed to make up the numbers.  They were all older than me but pulling on the jersey and outfit made me feel like superman.  I was not though.  I was brought up to cherish honesty.  But when I was asked if the ball had gone out, I said no when I knew it had.  It must have impacted me as it happened when I was a kid (and in case you had not noticed I am not a kid anymore) and I still remember it.
Something else that impacted me big time was something I read.  A girl was worried that should the Nazi’s come she would comply.  She did not want to.  What she had seen them doing was something she wanted to avoid and that went against all she held to.  She went to her dad about it, and I love his response.  He said, “when you buy a train ticket when do you need it?”  Her response was “when I hop on the train.”  He said words to the effect of not to concern yourself with that now - when the time comes you will have the ticket you need.  That was the way it worked out.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrie_ten_Boom
That is a bit the way I look at the world.  I do not want to make declarations when there is no threat even though I will always work now so that should the threat come, I am ready.  (It does not mean imagining every threat and practicing for it.  I knew someone like that.  It just means doing what I feel to do now and believing that whatever threat arises I am prepared though what I have been doing.)
I reckon in wars there would have been many declarations of “I’d never do that!” but when the threat came it was done.
The best I can hope for is when the threat comes, I have what I need.  I take out insurance to cover such a scenario.  My lifestyle is my insurance policy so that when something comes, I have what I need.
