Day Off

It is raining today.  I had a bit of a sleep in.  Did not get up till close to 4.30am, . Today is my day off.  Nothing planned.  As I have probably said, a day off does not mean I do nothing.  It is just I try to plan nothing.  It does not always turn out that way but mostly it does.
So here I am with the day before me.  I have got various things I can do.  There are a few little things I need to do for my own sanity really.  The rubbish gets collected today.  Although I did not have the bins out last night, I put them out this morning.  Around 5.30 is early enough.  I have never heard them come that early.  6 something yes.  5.30 no.  I should also wash up.  I have not done that for a couple of days, and the pile is growing.  When there is just one it does not increase by much, but even a little incrementally adds up.
Time to deal with it.  Besides it also gives me a chance to listen to new music.  I enjoy that and am sometimes pleasantly surprised.  When a song really gets me, I tend to play it a few times and sometimes add it to my play list.  Some of what I write about is from what I hear.  Not today though.  Today is sort of inspired by what I see.  Good indoor weather.
I guess today is like an interlude.   There are four things on the agenda tomorrow and it will take morning and evening.  Saturday is two – early morning and one all afternoon.  Sunday is two (morning and lunch time).  Monday is two things at this stage (morning) and Tuesday is three (all day and evening).
Wednesday is Merril’s birthday.  Normally there are three things planned for that day.  I am not sure what the go is.  Whatever we do it will be a special day for Merril.
Then Thursday we go away on a two week break!  We have booked a place on the coast.  I know we always book the place for just after Merril’s birthday and out of school holidays.  I guess we have established a loose routine for that too.  We take our trikes, fishing lines, computers and books.  We really like where we go (I guess continually going back says that).
Whether we have a wild time depends on the definition of wild.  If it means perhaps having two cups of coffee instead of one, and two extra pieces of cake, then the time we have is wild in the extreme.  Really the attraction is being together, a change of scenery and a break from the routine.
But that is to come.  That is the plan anyway.  Who knows what will happen.  Two days ago there was no thought Merril would be elsewhere.  Planning is what we do knowing tomorrow could be very different from what is imagined.   
Right now is a day off though, and the washing up is calling me.  Also, the birds just reminded me I should feed them too.  Oh and today is worm feeding day.
I guess that means I should get up.
