Day by Day

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes.  It was a good day.  We went to church and then the Aquarium place and then had a rest before one of Merril’s sister arrived to stay overnight.  She and Merril and their dad were heading into NSW to visit Merril’s sister's daughter.  They left the next day to be at the dad’s place by 6am.
I did not know really what I had planned for that day after 7am.  Turned out to be a very interesting day.  I received a phone call to say people were waiting to deliver a freezer to N3C and someone was needed to open up.  I headed straight down.  I could not believe how easily the freezer came off the truck and then was wheeled into a waiting place.
I was just shutting up to go home when someone else arrived to fix a door.  As I was the only one around I stayed while the door was worked on.  I found enough to do.
I was totally wrapped the door was being fixed.  It was one that when opened should slowly close.  This one did not.  Someone could open the door and let it go and step inside not knowing the door was going to swing past the closing point and get them.  It had gotten two people I knew off and I I had intervened just in time twice to prevent the door getting someone.
The guy fixed the door and laughed when I told him he had changed my life.  The door is something I do not need to concern myself with anymore.  I tested it and am very happy.
It never ceases to amaze me the little drama’s that play out in everyone’s life.  That was one of mine and I am really pleased the problem has been sorted.
I spent some of the rest of the day working on a roster.  This time of year it is really hard to pin down regulars.  I totally think everyone needs a break but when they do I need to find replacements.  I normally have a set plan but this time of year it is more getting who is around.  Makes it interesting to say the least.
Later in the evening I talked to a friend of years that I have not had much to do with in recent times.  It was great to catch up.  He and I have common interests and give each other heaps.  I reckon it is great to be able to agree and disagree with people, go through good and bad times together and have a real affection for each other.
Today has dawned fine and no doubt holds a few surprises.  Whatever happens I know things work for good.  I’m in!
