Count Down

Well the countdown is on.  Really to several things.
Merril goes away tomorrow for a week.  Visiting her niece and kids in NSW.  He sister (the nieces mum) is going down too.  I would say I am going to be all alone but I may be alone but I am not by myself.  I will miss Merril and want her back even though she has not gone away yet.
The other biggy for me that is coming up is having people over for breaky and chat on Saturday.  Menzone it is called.  It is always interesting to see who turns up.  I am expecting a few.  A friend called Steve does the cooking and that is all arranged.
As can be gathered from the name it is a get together of guys.  I am really glad for that.  It seems to me some is deserved and some undeserved but guys often get a bad wrap I reckon.  This is a chance for us to hang out together, shoot the breeze and as a banner I have had made says “give meaning to the everyday.”
But first, today Merril goes and gets a car she will be travelling south in (it is complicated but the car is on the Sunshine coast).  After that we need to get some chicken a place donates for our outreaches.  That will be a drive to Carseldine.  Then we need to go get eggs and sausages for Saturday.  There is also a trip to a pharmacy in there somewhere.
Later Merril needs to pack, and I need to ensure all is good to go for Saturday (check the bbq and gas and set up for Saturday.)  I just remembered we will need to get our urn also.  We loaned it out and it has been put somewhere that we can collect it.)
I do have tomorrow to organize a few things.  I think a mate was so right when he said years ago that the good thing about visitors is it motivates a person to tend to their place. 
We are pretty motivated anyway, but there is always more and it can always be made better.
