Containers

It must be a girl thing.  The love of containers.  It is something I will never understand.  Nay, forsooth, verily, hitherto fore and any other old English word I can think of, I don’t know that I am supposed to understand.  My role is probably just to provide a one-word response and add dear on the end.  Yes Dear, no Dear.
It seems to me that a girl need only mention containers to another girl and they are suddenly like best friends.  I’ll admit I never knew there was so much to containers.  It does not seem to matter if there is no room in the house for humans to move, as long as there is room for containers.
When going shopping it is like the container section calls out to the girls.  There is so much on the way I never knew was interesting but apparently is, but the goal is the containers.  I reckon shops know this. The container section is so well laid out.  There is a container for everything and more.
I think I must have worked it out though.  Girls must be born with something that boys are not.  It seems that every girl is born with a container shaped vacuum in their heart that can only be filled by a container.  Unlike other vacuums in the heart I have heard about, this one is guaranteed never to satisfy, and is activated by the obtaining of one container.  From that point on, containers must be had.
To me, it is just as well men seem to mostly organize the containers that are on ships.  Still if the container is unclaimed and cutting the lock reveals it is a container of containers then a fight to the death bidding war will ensue between the women.
For men it is like “this container only has containers in it.”  For women though it is like “what do you mean only has containers in it!?  Look at those containers!  This is like container heaven.  I must have this container.”  Other women have seen it and thought the same.
Then a bidding war starts.  It can get ugly.  The guys think “I could have used that elsewhere.”  The girls think “I must have those containers.”  The price goes up and up.  Eventually one woman just avoids being out on the street and no longer having a house to live in, while the other gloats.  She knows that for at least half the world’s population this is a good buy.
Desirable containers are not limited to microwavable Tupperware containers, and others with a rectangular shape and a good lid.  A drink container can be a desirable container to keep. “One never knows what a person could keep in that.”  “Ain’t that the truth.”
Still, to be fair, some of those containers that are see through, are good for keeping like screws and nails in.  It does not seem to matter that that container represents One in 10,000 it is worth keeping to cover the “just in case” scenario.
Fortunately, containers have not taken over our house.  We have containers, but they are contained in a container.
