Coasting

Bit of a false start today.  I thought it was light outside, so I got dressed ready for the day.  Merril awoke and asked what time it was.  I looked at the clock and it was just after three am.  It was not light but a light outside that had thrown me.  I went back to bed.
Some of the things we have seen have been humorous.  To our great surprise in Winton we came across the Winton Surf Club.   That was pretty much the last thing we expected to see out there.
On one road there are trivial pursuit signs designed to keep a person awake.  They are a good idea I think.  They kept us wondering.  They would ask a question on one sign and give the answer on another.
Still another sign said. “still a long way to go kids.”  I guess in answer to the common refrain “are we there yet?”  I did like they were willing to put it as a sign.
It was for Tweed Bait and might be Australia wide but in Bowen I saw “good things come to those who bait.”  Got my attention.  We had not brought any fishing gear as we had really only thought about the western aspect of our trip.  Driving home via the coast road is basically just a relax and see what we can.
Yesterday we were going to visit caves outside of Rocky.  What we did not know is we had arrived 10 minutes late for the last tour which was at 2pm.  That had not been mentioned on their web site.  Nor had the fact that it was best to book.  Turned out even if had been on time the tour was fully booked.
We are booked for this morning.  Then we will drive to Gin Gin on our way home.
We are hoping to get back to Brisbane on Friday.  It has been a really enjoyable trip.  I have been assembling photo’s and had a quick look at movie maker.  I think I will be able to get pictures into there and put it to music.  I used to do that regularly, but Microsoft removed the program.  It seems a number of people wanted it back as it is there again.
I don’t think I could ever be a grey nomad.  There are heaps of caravans on the road.  But for me I like my base too much.  Holidays come to an end and my own bed is something I like.
