There is no doubt about it, the more I live life, the more I realize I need to get a life.  When I wash up of a morning I like to listen to music.  I love wifi.  I set the phone to shuffle play and the music comes through another device.  Hands free.  I can do what I am doing without being stuck in one place to listen.
This morning my phone battery was dead, so I could not listen to anything.  This is where the comment on getting a life comes from.  I thought about my washing up process.  There is a good chance that what I write I have said before.  It is now more than 950 blogs and each between 400 and 600 words.  I ran out of enough fingers and toes long ago.
The first thing I do is clean off all the places I intend doing.  What I like to do is treat each day as a new day.  That means whatever something was used for the day before, it is put aside to start again.
There definitely are times when this is not the way to go with bigger projects.  But they are the exception rather than the rule.  It seems to me the quickest way to a mess is to leave something and not return it immediately to where it belongs.
I am big on something being available for its intended use.  If a table is clear, I can use it.  I am not into needing to clear it before I use it.  Horses for courses.  Works for me.
My study is definitely a work in progress though.  I am good at putting bits of paper on my desk which I think “I will deal with later.”  I do, but I need to clear them to use the desk.  What I do like about papers though is many spread out can be put into one pile.  Looks way less.
The desk is not in my washing up zone though.  That comprises of the dishes, kitchen benches, stove top and the dinning room table.  For some surfaces I need the steel wool.  If the grime is obvious that is easy. But my sight is undependable.  I use my hand to feel.  Sometimes there is a little bump indicating something there I did not know about.  The steel wool deals with that.
I can’t believe that.  Here I am writing about washing up.  No doubt waging wars or climbing mountains would be more impressive.  But that is not my world.  Washing up is a part of it though.  If I don’t learn anything from my world, I learn nothing.
