Church Bombings

I must admit I am amazed.  But then I am probably quite easily amazed.
On the week end we saw three churches in Indonesia targeted and bombed.  A number of people were killed.  Who perpetrated this?  Muslim extremists doing what they did in the name of religion.
What amazes me is the fact that it is written that Jesus said (in John 16:2) “the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing God a service.”
Believing in the “2nd coming” has been the case for hundreds of years.  We have seen people gather together thinking “this is it.”  It does not seem to matter to them that it was written that “no man knows the hour or the day.”  It is no wonder that when it did not happen there was recalibration needed.  It seems though that some learned nothing as they continued to ignore that fact the timing could not be known.
To me, it is no wonder many folk are sceptical, as so much has been done in the name of religion that no matter how it is looked at, it is wrong.  To me though just because someone is wrong does not make the concept wrong.   It seems Edison was onto a winner with the light bulb though he was wrong many times.
The difference these days for me is that mankind, through nuclear weapons, now has the ability to completely annihilate itself.  As far as I know this was not possible in past history.
If this was said in isolation I could easily dismiss it as mere co-incidence.  But it seems there are heaps of things he said happening before my eyes.  It makes me wonder “was this person in the know?”
