China’s Constitution

So China is looking at changing their constitution to allow their current leader to remain indefinitely.  It is something I would not do.
No one likes getting rid of a current good leader, and it is regrettable.  A good leader is wanted and desirable, but not at any cost.  Unfortunately a bad leader could arise, and with the current constitution changed, there would be no way of removing them.
There is a form of thinking that says, if the leader is bad, we will just get rid of them.  Unfortunately, that is not always as easy as it sounds.  Often people, no matter how good or well-intentioned, are merely puppets. Worse still, is what happened in Germany.  Once Hitler was in power, he “eliminated” his enemies to consolidate his position.
We have seen the constitution changed in Turkey.  I personally would not want to be on the leaders’ bad side (unfortunately, being on his bad side seems to mean not agreeing with him). It is interesting to me, that in world politics we only ever hear of the current incumbent wanting to change the constitution – not those they serve. So often it is the lust for power that is wanted – not the needs of others.
The reason the original constitution was written how it was, was as a safe guard.  There can definitely be a short term gain in changing it, but there is a very good chance there will be long term pain. 
My thinking is, if the constitution is inadequate in some legitimate way that is obvious to many, and needs changing, change it, but if not, don’t.
