Change

There is no doubt in my mind change is happening.  For a start I am getting older.  It just seems to happen.  I guess they are right when they say people that have more birthdays tend to live longer.
I am glad to be around.  It seems to me I can just sit still to see things change.  An institution I grew up with is becoming less and less.  Banks.  I will never forget the bank I am with which had a branch at the campus I was on writing to me to say they were improving the service to me.  How?  By moving the branch away! Now I do not know where the branch is and we do all our transactions on line or talk to someone in Melbourne.
Another thing that has changed is EFTPOS.  Once upon a time if the network was down transactions could be done manually.  Not anymore.  If the network is down, I need to wait until it is up again.
But if I have cash, I can still do transactions.  But cash is becoming a less and less things.  Some shops would not take cash but legally they had to so, that option is seen less and less thankfully.  Though I must admit I hardly have any cash these days.
Just the way so much is done is changing before my eyes.  Merril is studying at the moment and thought she would see what AI did.  She asked it to write her an essay of a certain number of words on a specific topic.  Lo and behold it wrote a brilliant essay including references.  Merril said she wanted the references in another format and instantly it was done.   They say the AI revolution has the potential to be more life altering than the industrial revolution.
Sigh.  I could feel like a dinosaur.  But I don’t.  I do what I can to keep up and even in correspondence I use a number of methods whether it is email, text, phone, or social media.  Occasionally it is even the dying art of letter writing. 
It is clear there is change everywhere.  Thankfully there is nothing that hinders me from purpose.  I can only work with what I have got and with God’s help I have got enough.
