Change for the Better

I read something recently and thought that is true.  It said, “Just because improvements aren't visible doesn't mean they aren't happening.”
A mate of mine who is into reunions says he saw someone recently who he had last seen at school (he is now 50 something).  At school the fella was a bully but now is as open and friendly as someone can be.
If he is any thing like me often change is incremental.  I know I am different now than I was a year ago.  There have been things I wanted dealt with that have been.  Not in a dramatic way but in a way I actually like too.  Gradually.  Not only have things disappeared I did not like but things have appeared I do like.
For sure I wanted them but is is really only as I look back I see I have them now.  I guess it is what I hold to big time and that is replacement.  The more I concentrate on something the bigger it becomes.
I see it all the time.  People give themselves over to negative things like murderous video games or tv or to positive things like helping others or just neutral things like a hobby.  Before I know it when I engage them in conversation what is closest to their hearts is what they will talk about.
Often the change is not obvious at the time but years later they are very obvious, at the very least to an onlooker.  But just like the saying says the change may not be visible to the person.  Often I am the last to recognize change and it takes someone else to point out the difference.
To me not all change is a bad thing.  It can get a bad rap but it depends on the change.  One for the better is a good thing.  It may be n improved way of doing things or an improved way of life.
Whatever the change may be, if it is for the better I am into it.  For the better implies it is good for everyone.  It may not come easy and be immediately visible, but it is so worth it.
