I was not online long before I discovered chat groups. Things moved slower back then, and posts could be added without them disappearing at “the speed of posts.” I enjoyed a chat site and met a lot of great people on it.
I felt I needed a name, so I settled on the name “Cattle Grazing.” I had originally thought of Cattle Stampede but felt that was too manic. Little did I know that choosing that name would lead to many gifts and a group of short stories I wrote (https://nothomeyet.net/the-book.html) The book was called “The Secret Life of Cattle” and I had help putting it together for which I will always be grateful. People would ask Cattle questions, and I responded. I enjoyed writing all the stories but the ones in particular I loved were “Shaving Legs”, “Sailing”, “Fishing Tale”, “Super Cattle” and “Space Cattle.” (And one on “Military Cattle” training which I am unsure is in the book) There are a few responses to my posts but the one that probably means the most to me was by a guy in the US I never knew who said “A cheerful heart is good medicine---well cattle grazing I've got to be very healthy about right now ----this is so good” The gifts I unexpectedly received included Cattle seeds. Apparently, one just plants them to grow cattle. I also received something handmade and probably my favourite was a stuffed toy cow that I named Cattle Grazing.” I took him on many adventures with me. Hardly a holiday would go by that he was not on. In fact, the last holiday Merril and I had I forgot to take him and bought a stuffed dinosaur at an op shop. I called him Matthew. I enjoyed that time. Merril and I also posted to an afternoon newspaper here is Brisbane at one stage (Eric the Circle is on the web site too). These were different periods but represent good memories.
