Car Music

Everyone seems to like their own music.  I guess someone would be a bit of a dill if they continually bought music they did not like.
So often in cars I hear the music coming.  Normally it is the bass first.  I think they are called doof doof cars.  The person listening to the music seems to assume everyone will like their music.  It can be very loud.  Even with the windows up and the air con on, it is still really clear.
Someone recommended to me Birds of Tokyo.  To me they are very good.  Merril and I are right into Switchfoot.  We recently bought a really old album by a group called DC Talk.  It was popular in all circles.  They have some incredibly catchy melodies.
The reason I am thinking about this at the moment, is I have a car I drive and I have discovered how the cd player works.  It sure did not help that the first cd I tried was a dud, and despite numerous tries no sound would be produced.  It was such a relief when another cd was put on and worked first go.
I am listening to Paul Coleman at the moment “One Voice, One Guitar.”  It is an oldie but a goodie.  That guy is so talented.  I saw him live years ago and not only could he make the guitar talk, he could do accents for the songs on request.  He played with Newsboys for a while.
“One Voice, One Guitar” was put together in his home though the quality is such that no one would know.  Boy can he play.
I have also been listening to another guy I knew nothing about.  His name sounds like Donald Duck, but it is not that.  I just asked Merril.  It is David Dunn. I like a couple of his songs, but there are some words that have really stood out to me.  He was singing about when he was a kid and he knew nothing about keeping up with the Jones’ but he was really glad they lived next door.  Another time he mentions Daniel in the lion’s den, and says it was the safest place for him.  I had not considered that, but it probably was.
I only travel short distances in the car, but it is great to have music playing and the air conditioning on.  Sometimes I don’t want to leave the car.  I am happy to sit in there and listen to a song.  If I really like the song I will repeat it.
They say “each to his own.”  To me, that is especially true when it comes to music.
