Calling it a Day

​It’s funny how a day can end up being laid back and busy at the same time. It happened yesterday.

We were off to an early start as Aldi had mulcher on sale and we wanted a couple. I have a much pile and it produced beautiful soil. But I am over it. I’ve done the same thing in the last wo homes. Pile up cuttings and general garden waste and eventually beautiful topsoil is produced. The worms think so anyway.

We were both surprised at how few there were at Aldi, and we found and got what we wanted.

From there we were off to a place that was holding a concert and free lunch. We had spent some time setting it up and knew there were a few things still to do. So that is what we did.

After that we went to visit the granny flat. It is coming along well but the house was still inaccessible without some climbing. We did not go inside. We wanted to get some measurements for some work outside we have in mind. We also wanted to count the pavers we had stacked up. They had been pulled up as the deck is going where they were. There will be enough for me to do what I have in mind. Fortunately I took notes as I do not remember the measurements of numbers. But I do know where to find them.

We then had to decide if we were going to Stratco or not. We decided not to as what we were after (a shed) would be a special size and require a special build. It was not likely to be less than the quote we already had. So we went home for a while.

We then went to the free lunch and concert our friend and wife were putting on. It was great. It was good to catch up with people I knew and others I met for the first time. The place was fairly full.

After that we had our customary afternoon rest and went back and set up for church. I had thought of lots of changes but did not make any except one small one. I lead the singing for the first time since January. Merril is talking at communion. We both completed our preparations in the evening and called it a day. Well it would have been called a day anyway but I think it is known what I mean.

Sunday afternoon we veg. Sorta does not happen the way we expect, but we look forward to it anyway.
