Busy

​Bit cactus right now.  Been a big week-end, but we know it would be.
Had cleaning yesterday.  We had our regular cleaning but we had other things we wanted to do.  What we are trying to do is clear our building so it can take as many people as possible.  There has been a lot of building going on, which has finished now.
On Friday Merril and I are getting more chairs.  The building will not need any more after we collect these.  We cannot get them until the place we are getting them has finished with them.  They are a church and are moving after a Good Friday service at 3.30pm.  At Logan.  Someone has agreed to help us load and unload the chairs.
We not only cleaned on Saturday, we went from room to room clearing.  We were pleased to find a marque which someone assisted with us setting up.  It proved to be bigger than we thought but that is a better problem to have then finding it is too small.  We could put things under that, that we either want for the future or want to get rid of.
There are a couple of things that remain that someone is taking to the dump this week.  So not only did we do our regular clean but went from room to room clearing out what we must.
That was step one.  On Wednesday Merril and I are setting the place up for a service we are holding on Good Friday.  Merril and I will not be there as we have another important engagement.
We know that the coming week will be busy also.  There will be meetings, cleaning, pulling down, setting up.  We are very much looking forward to our event on Sunday but will be glad when heading home and it is over.
It always amazes me how much goes into something that appears to be seamless.  Many people are involved in making it happen.  We are not the only ones working.  There are many others, some of whom have familiar roles and others who will be doing something for the first time.
Merril and I will be heading off on holidays on the Tuesday after Easter.  I could say we are heading overseas, and we are.  But it is just to South Stradbroke Island.  We are looking forward to that time.  We are very thankful to Merril’s sister and brother-in-law for loaning us their place to inhabit for 10 days.
While there we go for walks, take heaps of photo’s, read, and vege.  It will be a great chance to recharge our batteries.
Very recently I had the feeling that the days of looking forward to doing very little are over.  I know both Merril and I need to be sensible about doing things and take appropriate rests.  Retirement to me is not about doing nothing, but having more time to do what I enjoy doing.  In that scenario I am living the dream.
