Busy Week

5/4/2021

And so it begins.  This is a crazy busy week.  We have done another garden bed at the front.  Merril’s “medow” has been done.  We will not disturb the blue Banded bees when we see that garden bed does not get overgrown with lawn grass.  In the meantime we try, try, try again.
There is so much happening we have made a list of things to do each day so we do not forget.  There are five meetings (perhaps six) set down for this week.  I lead two of them and a bit of preparation goes into each.
We are also preparing Stu’s home for renting out.  There is a lot of work in that.  Along with clearing each room I have been going through personal stuff.  That has been harder than I thought.  Days have already been spent on the home and we do not want to stumble at the final hurdle.  A week from today new tenants should be in the place.
We went to Bunnings yesterday and bought some shelves.  At least one is for the tool shed while we have plans for other items.  That is a major task I am still to do.  Clear the tool shed.  I am interested to see what I will find there.  I discovered I remembered how it once was when I went to grab something and things had changed.
I must remember too I do not enjoy the capacity I once had.  Tasks are arranged as a few hours rather than all day activities.  I was amazed how many told me to remember to drink plenty of water yesterday.
Five of the events planned are for where we live.  One involves our shed being used but us not being a part of the activity.  Whether we are involved or not ensuring the place is ready for use is always necessary.
Merril and I do these things because we have chosen to.  We enjoy it.  We love facilitating events.  But many it seems do not realize or easily take for granted the work involved in setting something up.  No matter the event, participants generally just enjoy the activity.  Often a great deal of work has gone into an event appearing seamless.
The Egyptians have just moved items from an old museum to a new one.  Planning took six months.  The Olympics are coming up.  Planning has been years in the making.  Yet the event takes a limited amount of time and if all is as it should be the event takes centre stage and the planning is unseen.
That is our desire.  There are things to do, places to go and people to see.  Hopefully though, all the activity forms a backdrop only and each goal is achieved.
