Busy but Good

Different sort of day today.
Started early as usual but I knew I had an extra half hour or so than I once had before I went out.  So the start to my day was a little more leisurely than usual.
We are looking at selling a fridge, and a guy said he wanted it and would be at the location we specified at 1pm to pick it up.  We looked on-line at his Facebook profile and found he lives on the Gold Coast, so we thought if he specified a time like that he must be serious to be willing to come all that way.
So I did what I normally do of a Sunday morning and that is go to church.  As always it was good to catch up with people.  Also, one of the things I love is that I am not going to an endurance test.
I always like what is said, and in my opinion it would be good if more people knew the head cannot absorb more than the seat can endure.  I have been of the opinion that where possible it is advisable to leave people wanting more, rather than wondering if this will ever end.
What was different today for us was the fridge was at this location, so rather than go home we bought lunch and ate it there.  And waited.  1pm came and went and we received a message.  Would 4pm be ok?
It was actually great to be asked.  Some just leave us waiting without a word.  Once we knew it would be later at best, we were free to go home with a view to coming back at 4pm.  I needed to be back at 4pm anyway.  Merril decided she could do things there (besides selling the fridge) until I was ready to go home.
I needed to explain that no matter what, I needed to split at 5.50 as we had invited people over to watch the grand final of the football.
What I had found out was that daylight saving time had started overnight where it was being played.  So I had originally asked others over for 7pm.  It was now 6pm.  I had phone calls to make.
I did but then I had a rest.  I had already ordered the pizza’s for 6 pm.  When I ordered the fish, I went to the pizza shop and asked for a voucher (they normally put them on cars for finals like this).  I had not been out at the right time.  The lady did the special price for me.  She said “I did it because I am a nice person.”  Worked for me.  The trouble was when I looked at my receipt there was really nothing special about the price.  To add to it when I picked up the pizza’s they said I owed and it was only that I could prove payment I did not need to pay again.
In the end I went to the meeting, the fridge was bought, people came to our home and we watched the grand final.
The final was a bit of a fizzer to me.  Penrith played really well and deserved the win.  For me the semi-finals were way more exciting, but that happens.  The company was good.  The food was good.  The hospitality was good.  Hang on…that was us.  I just know I went to bed a content man.
