Bon Bons

It is Christmas day!  Yahoo!!
Christmas is a time of eating, drinking and being merry.  Unfortunately it is also the time of terrible bon bon jokes.  However there was one from a bon bon my bro read out, that made us all laugh heartily.
Q.  What did Snow White say when the reproduction of her photo’s did not arrive at the expected time?
A.  One day my prints will come.
There was a joke mum used to tell that I remember very well.
Q. What did the mouse say when the lion asked (said in a voice almost a roar) “why aren’t you big and strong like I am?”
A. (said in the weakest, puniest voice) “I’ve been sick”
I must admit I love that mouse.  His self-esteem is terrific.  He saw his problem not as one of size, but ill health.
As a kid I was allowed to open one present before we went to church.  There is no sack now, but there are a few presents that I don’t know what they are.
I guess I am thankful that I have experienced so many Christmas’s.  The last few years though have been a little too dramatic though.  However it is true that I never tire of Christmas’s.  It is a great chance to spend time with family.  We have been planning this get together for a while.
I have already been given a new table tennis bat and rubbers.  It really was time.  My rubbers were old.  I think Columbus was just discovering the America’s when they were put on.  Well maybe they were not that old, but they were years old.  A coach told me I was playing the right shot but the age of the rubbers prevented spin.
The accepted wisdom is to practice with them, and then introduce them in competition. I could not wait.  I started using them the night of competition I got them.  As I was politely told, I could not do any worse.  I was also told that with new rubbers I would tend to hit long.  That is my excuse.  It was not me, it was the new rubbers.
My oldest brother got the meat, Merril and I got all that goes with it, and Stu got the dessert.
I want to wish everyone a good Christmas.  Please know that although I take this opportunity to wish you that now, my desire is always the very best for you, no matter the season.
