​Blog 1,100
This is blog 1,100.  Ok really that is just a number but what a number it is!
There was a year 1,100.  King William the 2nd of England died in that year.  Hmmm…maybe not the best example.  I don’t know much that happened that year as unless it happened where a writer was, we only heard about it after it happened.
Heaps of things happened in that century though.  Henry the 2nd invaded Ireland. Probably his troops ate and slept too but that is recorded nowhere and is an assumption.  The Khmer empire reached its peak.  That is mostly modern-day Cambodia but at its peak included most of modern-day Vietnam.  No doubt there were people in the fields tending to the rice when people of a strange tongue appeared.  What they wanted would have been fairly easy to determine though.  Probably their swords gave them away.  Work began on the church of Notre Dame.  Good work if you could get it.  Structures like that often took a lifetime to build back then, so work for life helped for getting a loan.  The trouble was, health and safety was not such a big issue back then.
That reminds me that Australia is considered to be in the forefront of sporting rehabilitation.  We got that way because our population is considered small when compared to some.  In those places, if a star gets injured, there are many ready to take their place.
I went past the number 1,100 the other day.  I had some Australian stamps.  I put them in lots of one hundred.  There were 123 bags.  That is a lot of bags.  11 bags. was like 1,100.
I suppose 1,100 features in a many things.  Big books normally have a word which is the 1,100th.  I have more stones than that in the front yard so the number must be past that if counting them (though why anyone would want to is beyond me, but each to his own).  There would be the 1,100th day after birth and school day, and workday and retirement day.
But for me this is blog 1,100.  Sometimes my pen is the hand of a ready writer and at other times I am wondering where inspiration will come from.  I reckon everything is like that.  I was listening to a song writer yesterday and he said nothing was coming.  He decided to give it 15 more minutes.  A song tumbled out in those minutes.  I knew exactly what he was talking about.  For what I consider one of the best songs I ever wrote, I had no words after spending ages on it.  I went out onto the balcony and the words tumbled out really quickly.
I like to celebrate milestones.  Ok it may be just that way for me but mostly I am soldiering on.  When a significant number is reached I throw a party.  I may be just partying in the inside, but a party is happening.
