Black Hole

Black Hole
Black holes.  I am told they are out there.  Never seen one myself.  But from what I understand they are not something to get close to.  Apparently they suck everything in.  Even light.  That could be why I have never seen one.  No light.  No particle stands a chance when it gets into its gravitational pull.  They can get big by making everything small.  Swallowing a star or a galaxy is likely to make something pretty big.
I reckon my life can get like that if I let it.  Totally inward looking.  Absorbing everything for myself alone.  Making life all about me only.  Me time matters but it is a part of the whole and not the whole itself.  Those who know me know I am all for reflection.  For examining matters.  For making decisions based on what is proved rather than what is imagined.
But I do know I need to be careful.  When I am self-absorbed, I fail to see what is around me.  I see this all the time with people looking at mobile phones.  They are so absorbed in the phone that others need to make way for them rather than them making way for others.  I need to be careful I do not become so absorbed in my world I miss what is happening around me.
Big or small, my reflection is based on the goal I set for myself.  Hopefully it is a goodie.  If my goal involves me only every time I am beaten before I start.  I want my reflections to be based on my interactions and not just my thoughts.
That can be hard.  Not everyone sees the world as I do but I cannot help it if they are all wrong (joke).  If I am closed and inward looking, I surround myself only with people who see the world as I do.  That process immediately shuts out most others.  I become like a river that runs and finishes inland only.  Or I have become like a black hole.
The opposite of implode (which is what Back holes do) is explode.  Personally, that is the way I want to be.  Explosions create many.  Implosions create nothing.    Some explosions are to be avoided.  Like bombs.  But some explosions are good.  After rain there is an explosion of life.  I am always amazed to see the birds and fish and animals that come to what was a dry riverbed after it has rained.
An explosion may create many small things, but they can become big things.
But if I am a black hole I will absorb heaps but I will not give heaps.  It will be take, take, take.  For sure being out there can be dangerous and I could meet an unfortunate end.  But to me receiving to give is the way to go.  It is the only way I can grow.  A jar can only become full again when it is emptied.  It is always up to me if the contents become better.
A black hole is not selective.  It absorbs everything but in my life some things need to be rejected.  I do not want to be Black holeish (is that a word?)  I guess it is the old “eat the worms and spit out the germs” thing.  I cannot stop things coming my way, but I can choose what I accept.  A black hole can’t.
