Best Laid Plans

It is still dark.  5.45 am.  But the shortest day of the year was a few days ago so this trend to darkness will become a trend to light.
I did have a couple of things planned for today.  But there is a raincheck on one visit as sickness is at the door.  It is in both our interests that it does not happen.  There is another fellow I visit this morning and I look forward to that every time.  We take it in turns.  One week I go there and another he comes here.  We deliberately make it a max of just over an hour.  We both leave wanting more.
I also want to check up on someone this morning.  His wife has been in hospital, and I would like to find out how they are going and spend some time with them if that is convenient.
Also today Merril and I will set up for our State of Origin night.  There are 10 people coming so far but I reckon that will grow.  This time I am going to set up a table with games also. Not everyone is into SOO.  Hard to believe.  But all are into get togethers.   Personally, I am hoping Queensland wins so I can relax for the next one.
This arvo is books.  I have a number of really good ones still to add to the lending library.  There are also DVD’s and CD’s to add.  It is a slow process, but it is happening.  I really get absorbed in the book titles and adding them.  Once it is done, we will advertise to make sure it is known about.
Tonight is date night.  Merril and I will go just down the road to the Caboolture Community club.  We have been there before, and the food was beautiful and the service excellent.  A table for two has been booked.
All of this is the plan anyway.  The only appointment is the first up visit.  Merril has one this morning.  She goes to a sewing group.  She sets up and is a support to the leader as well as learning things along the way. 
Yesterday I intended doing books, but the day came and went, and no books were done. There are a number of things to do here, and I know I have great plans.  I will see what happens.  I have not mentioned a sleep this afternoon and I know that will happen.
Days like this are appreciated.  I am ok with the high-pressure days, but I also like the laid back days (like today).  I know I need to top up my tank from time to time and today is such a day.  I will see what happens.
