Beast

Today was dictionary day.  After shutting my eyes and spinning the dictionary until I was totally disoriented as to if it were up or down I opened a page and put my finger on a word.  The word my finger was on today was “beast.”
Beasts are not something I have much to do with really.  There are things in the yard that I consider beasts because they are wild unwelcome animals.
Even spiders in the house really.  I had incredible success getting rid of one yesterday.  It was large and on the curtain.  Merril gave me a cutting board and container and showed me how she would deal with it.  I followed the way to the letter and before I new it I had trapped the spider and was releasing it into the yard.  We had decided it was a large Huntsman and could be released as it was not considered dangerous.
What was dangerous was a snake I came across in the yard.  We have friends that have cattle.  The wife had told us you always smell snakes before seeing them.  I was working on an area and smelled what I knew to be a snake.  I did not come across him until I tried to move a brom.  The snake came out at that point.  It was a black snake.  We both took off.
Once I was gone he went back to the brom and I decided the brom looked good where it was.  I now call that part of the yard a “wild life sanctuary.”
I suppose what I saw last night qualifies as a beast.  I looked up and saw a possum scampering on the branches of the tree.  I went out later and could not see him.  I heard something behind one of our sheds I thought was him.
Really snakes and spiders are the main beasts seen here.  We have a sprinkling of others occasionally but on the whole that is it.  As far as I am concerned that is enough than you.
