Baching

11/8/2019

Merril is selling her house.  It is a bit of a process.  We went and saw the agent together this week.  He has a good reputation.  Something he said I have not thought of before.  He said if there are three houses like yours on the market it is sometimes best to wait a week before listing.  If yours is the only one, then if it is liked the buyers only have yours to choose from.
Her selling her house has meant I have been baching it.  Merril gave the worms enough food to last them several days.  I don’t generally feed the birds.  They need to fend for themselves.  I watch them and enjoy them, but I don’t often feed them.  An experiment was done on wild birds and it was found that 30% of their diet can come from people putting food out.  The rest they get for themselves.  When I am around it can be like 100% they get from other sources.
When I am baching I give the impression that I am brave.  I reckon I can bark with the best of them.  Besides if there was a real threat, I think I could dive through the window.  The steel bars though would probably make that more difficult than I would like it to be.  The next obstacle would be the screen, but I would cross that bridge when I came to it.  I would keep on trying even if the intruder had time to make a cup of tea or watch some telly while I was attempting to escape.
We had a power black out last night.  Generally, I leave one light in the house on during the night.  It is not shining in our eyes, but if we get up there is enough light to see by.  But last night I had been asleep and woke up.  I thought I would watch a bit of telly.  The thing was there were no lights.  I tried the remotes to no avail.  It dawned on me that we were in the midst of a black out.  It was dark.  Really dark.
It is amazing to me what the imagination does when it is dark.  But I was ready.  My body was like a spring coil ready to unleash fury when I sprung into action.  A reality check put paid to that.
I got my phone and the light from that allowed me to see my surroundings.  Never mind that if there was a real threat it would allow them to see their surroundings too.  I could not maintain my vidual.  I drifted back to sleep.  The night past without incident.  But I was ready.  While I was awake I was anyway.
