Arabesque

A big thank you to Merril who chose todays word at random from the dictionary.  Really I am just saying that.  I mean, who would be thankful (except in a grit the teeth kinda way) for the word they had never heard of, yet alone used in a sentence?
Arabesque.  Say what?  It could mean “your mother has hairy legs” for all I know.  Wikipedia defines it as “a form of artistic decoration consisting of "surface decorations based on rhythmic linear patterns of scrolling and interlacing foliage, tendrils" or plain lines, often combined with other elements.”
Think I will go back to my dictionary.  Often if I read long enough there is something.  I found something close to what I know. It is used in Ballet to describe “posture in which the body is bent forwards and supported on one leg with the other leg extended horizontally backwards, and the arms are extended one forwards and one backwards.”
The trouble is to come close to assuming that position I need to find a phone booth and get changed.  Even then I mostly have both arms extended forward and parallel to each other with my legs trailing and parallel to each other.  I find that is the best way, as it enables me to punch through, or minimize any air resistance.  Sort of reminds me of what I read the other day. “Today I am feeling super lazy.  Which is just being lazy but I’m wearing a cape.”
Come to think of it though, I could assume that position at a crucial stage in a table tennis match.  Some people change up their game at crucial times, and that totally throws me.  I am not good at that.  But maybe if my opposition looked to the other end of the table, and I was balancing on one leg and leaning forward with one arm extended forward and the other back it would thrown them off their game.  They could lose it wondering if the other guy was all there.  I could win the game with them wondering what just happened.
The only other time I think I regularly balance on one leg is when I am getting into my pants.  At that time my mission, which I have chosen to accept (there is nothing like having no choice to help me accept a mission) is to avoid falling forward.  I really want to avoid being like a mate of mine who got his foot stuck on a motorbike when he pulled up at a set of lights.  There was a police car behind him, and he just fell sideways with no apparent attempt to break his fall.
I know that rather than say “bald,” a person is considered “follicly challenged” but I don’t know what the word is for being challenged when putting on my dacks.  I could say “dressing challenged” but that is too broad.  Though maybe that is me.  I am good at putting on shirts inside out without knowing it.  In my own defence (I need to do that as it is not likely to happen otherwise), both sides of the shirt look very much alike.  The worst of that is mostly I go a while before it is discovered by someone other than me.
But I digress.  Arabesque.  Oh, time is up.  What a pity.  Apart from being totally false I mean that.  I’ve missed my chance to totally wow you with what I know about that word.  Ok that was highly unlikely, but I live in hope.
