Apricot

Well I looked up a word in the dictionary.  The word my fingers fell on was apricot.  Sometimes my eyes are not the best in the morning.  I had no idea what the word was for a while.  When I saw juicy stone… I thought “this is messing with my head.”  Whoever heard of a juicy stone.  Turned out it said “juicy stone fruit.”
That created another problem for me.    It said “juicy.”  To me that is really subjective.  I would not say I find apricots particularly juicy (though I am sure some do).  They are tolerable and certainly better than some things, but “juicy?”  There are heaps of “juicy” things I would choose before an apricot.
The dictionary said, “allied to plum and peach.”  I mean maybe it is early but did the plum and peach get together and approach the apricot and say, “we would like to form an alliance. The potatoes’ have formed an underground movement and we just do not trust them. 
We think there is strength in numbers.  We know that alone we will never beat them but if we can call on each other for help if need be, we might have a fighting chance.  You never know, maybe we can act as a deterrent.”
One things for sure though, if they are going to go into battle they should change their uniform.  I mean, orangy yellow.  I can see it a mile away.  There is no stealth in that colour.  Unless the war was being carried out in an environment of many yellow flowered trees and plants – or where there are road works or slow down signs.
Maybe then they could merge with their environment.  But I reckon they would be vulnerable if I knew where to look.
That could create its own set of problems.  There could be so many apricot prisoners of war.  Potentially crates full I reckon.
Actually maybe that is it.  They end up in supermarkets and green grocers by the crate full.  Maybe now I know why.  Or maybe it is time I did something else.
