Anxiety

As most who look at this page would be aware, I get a weekly email from a guy called James Clear.  It contains quotes from him and others.
I got one today I have been considering. “"Relax. Your rumination, analysis, worry, and need to control the future are robbing you of the current moment. Yes, there is a time for preparation, but continually thinking of the future guarantees you'll never enjoy in the present."
It ties in big time with what I think about worry.  Ok. it is hard not to do, especially sometimes, but I am convinced it does not do any good.
As is stated there is a need to prepare for what it looks like is necessary.  Though I can never forget that I cannot cover all contingencies as I do not know what will happen.  I did not see the war in Ukraine or Israel or the cost of living going through the roof.  Not to mention the pandemic and the fundamental chances it has made to the way we live.
I particularly like his last sentence. “Yes, there is a time for preparation, but continually thinking of the future guarantees you'll never enjoy in the present."
I am very much of the mind that what I have is now.  I will do something about me as I feel I need to.  There are things within my control - but there is heaps that is not.  To me, it is a total waste of time to worry about anything and in particular the things beyond my control.
The present is what I have.  The future is not here yet.  I prepare as best I can, but I definitely move on to now.  I can love and build up.  I can encourage the best in another.  I can help someone to see that they are more than all the negative comments of others over a lifetime.  We are all people of good destiny, and it is important to me that I know that for myself and remind others.  Others who often do not get reminded of such things.
Maybe it seems Pollyanna like but I am convinced life is full of negativity.  I refuse to be involved and pretend that is all there is.
