An Ordinary Day

An Ordinary Day
Well yesterday felt like a rest day.  I had activities I had planned but I did not feel pressure that it had to be done.
The first outing was to check on marquess that Merril and I own.  We have loaned them and because of rain we had, I wanted to make sure they were ok.  There was 30 mls in our gauge.  I had looked at the BOM.  They had said there could be rain from the sunshine coast up.  Caboolture apparently is regarded as the Sunshine Coast and sure enough there had been rain streaming past from about there.  We were at the tail end of the rain.
Still in one sense it does not matter if we were in the middle of it, or at the end.  It rained.  Heavily for a bit.  I wanted to check our marquees.  One was, for want of a better expression, right as rain.  The other had water pooling which I dealt with.  It was weird.  The day before a side of our second marquee had water pooled.  I had seen on the net that pool noodles were the go-to fix the problem.  I even got a picture of what was done.  Trouble was, unbeknown to me, the marquee shown had a support we did not have.
But I had purchased some noodles and put them up to discourage water pooling.  I was keen to see if it had worked.  It had worked like a treat.  I thought “way to go.”  Trouble was there had been water pooling in the other side.  So I had a couple of spare noodles and did the same on that side.  Hopefully all good.
I heard someone say who had been through the recent Brisbane flood that every time it rains you remember.  I have been through a number of floods including one that flooded my home and know exactly what was meant.
I reckon I can make the noodles look neater, but I needed to know it would work first and they did.
I went home as my next engagement was to perhaps see someone at 11.30.  I did a few things and stared meaningfully into the middle distance and then headed off.
The person was not available, so I went to the shops.  That was part of my plan as I wanted to have lunch at the center and get some bird seed.  We had run out except for Sunflower seed.  The shop had wild bird mix but no Sunflower seed.  I could live with that.
I had lunch nearby as planned but all alone mind.  Normally Merril and I do that together of a Wednesday (I talked on the phone to Merril and she sounded way better.  She still had covid but was over a hump)
I then went back and the person I wanted to see had gone to lunch.  So I headed home again and spent the rest of the day there.
